Summer PD Opportunities: Art and Photo Workshops for Teachers

Explore, Create, and Recharge: A Studio Art Workshop for Educators Reignite your creativity this summer with a hands-on, immersive workshop designed to nourish your inner artist while expanding your toolbox of techniques. Over four dynamic days, you’ll explore drawing, painting, printmaking, and mixed media in a supportive studio environment.

Each day offers new activities and materials, encouraging experimentation, personal expression, and skill development. This workshop is ideal for all experience levels—from beginners seeking artistic confidence to experienced educators and practicing artists looking to recharge, reflect, and produce meaningful work.

All adult students are welcome to use the studio space and materials for personal artistic development. As time allows, we’ll also share ideas for integrating visual arts into content-based learning and aligning creative practices with curriculum standards.

Photography Workshop:

This summer workshop is designed for educators who want to explore photography both as a personal creative practice and as a tool for classroom engagement. Whether completely new to photography or looking to sharpen skills, this workshop offers a supportive, hands-on environment to learn and grow.

Daily photo challenges will be based around learning manual camera settings to control exposure, exploring approachable composition techniques to strengthen imagery, and learning the basics of photo editing using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop to enhance and finalize images.

All levels are welcome. Educators will leave with an understanding of the power of photography and will discover the art of seeing through the lens.

Additionally, we will discuss how to bring photography into the classroom, with ideas for standards-aligned projects across content areas.

We can provide cameras for use upon request.
