Course Overview
The use of digital art is a primary method of communication in our fast-paced, visually-oriented culture. Creative, innovative minds are much sought-after in all fields, and the digital artist in particular now holds an important place in modern society as a generator and conveyor of ideas. This course is an introduction to some of the current software available to the artist/designer. Students in the Macintosh lab (The Mac is the most widely used platform in art schools and in the graphics industry) will use the computer as a tool to solve artistic problems. The software most used will be the Adobe CS Suite, which includes Photoshop and Illustrator. Lessons will also include the use of scanners, digital cameras, drawing tablets, color printers and the internet.
