Maker Space Inspiration

4/28/2015

Picture
When designing a space for a client you must have an understanding of the objectives of the space. You will need to research and prepare before starting to design the space.

Read this article on Makerspaces:
https://net.educause.edu/ir/library/pdf/eli7095.pdf

Here is a link to the Stewart Media Center Makerspace that you can check out as they begin the design process.

There are links to the librarian's Instagram and Flickr accounts which show lots of pictures. Take a look at this site:

There is another site in New Milford New Jersey with a Makerspace that is another great resource for your students to check out.

Here are the links to that site:

Room Redesign Research

4/27/2015

Now that you know the two spaces that you will redesign you will need to find out the wants, needs, function and desires for the rooms and spaces.

You need to create a list of questions for the interviews. Here is the link to the start of the list of questions.

Please add questions on to the list and then you will need to set -up time for the interviews and fill in the answers for the questions.

You will then create a presentation for each space describing the goals for the space, needs and proposed solution and plans.

Here the presentation created for the History Hall Project:
