Create a surrealist (dream) image based on dreams, memories, obsessions, and feelings.

Project:

- Gain an understanding of the methods and content of Surrealismand be able to recognize the works of Salvador Dali and Rene Magritte.
- Juxtapose photos you have taken in unusual ways
- Create dream imagery
- Advance your skills with Photoshop

- Must contain at least ten different items/selections.
- Must be comprised mainly of photos you have taken yourself.
- Must contain a sense of environment/space.
- Must contain elements of surrealism
- Juxtaposition of dissimilar objects
- Dislocation
- Levitation (floating)
- Transparency
- Size changes
- Metamorphosis
- Natural laws are reversed
Photograph -- Use a camera or iPad to take a series of photos that you will use to make a surrealistic scene.
Take photos of the following:
- landscapes
- interior spaces (classroom, gym, library, stairwell, etc.)
- close ups of faces (straight-on view and in profile)
- full-figure action poses
- close ups of objects
- interesting textures
- anything else that’s interesting
Remember to:
- take photos near plenty of light
- turn your flash off
- fill the picture plane
- focus
