Our Alumni Artist Day on Friday proved once again that BHS graduates are artistic, articulate, attend top universities and are employed. We welcomed back many alumni who educated students about pursuing their passion as artists. Barbara Wye is at Lake Forest College and shared her experiences from her semester in Tanzania. Photograph by Barbara Wye Rachel Glynn is a freshmen at Syracuse University and is studying Photography. She explained her freshmen foundation program and the curriculum for her major. Woodblock Print by Toula Papadolous Mixed Media work by Toula Papadopolous Toula Papadopolous is at the School Museum of Fine Arts which does not have majors and is a stark contrast to the curriculum at Syracuse and suits Toula quite well. Olivia Akerely is freshmen at University of Hartford and she shared her experiences and work in the freshmen foundation program at the Hartford Art School. Graphic designer Laura Allegretto was employed one week after graduating from Mass College of Art. She discussed how much she loves her job, the perks of being able to work as a freelance artist from her kitchen table and how she is learning to manage her time, and finances. Architect Jennifer Vachon is employed at Isgenuity and is currently working on Children's Hospital. She shared her impressive portfolio of work from her five year degree program at Syracuse University ( the #3 Architecture school in the country). Many students found her renderings of the buildings inspiring. Jen discussed her passion and love of her job.

It was indeed a proud moment for during BHS alumni. It proved the fact that BHS graduates are artistic, articulate, attend top universities and are employed. I am happy for BHS and I am sure the present students will learn a lot from the graduates.
