On Saturday, March 28 five BHS students: Souleiman Benhida, Eric Kaweesa, Julian Lechner, Gianni Newman, and Jovan Sematimba competed in the Tenacity Challenge 2015 at Bedford High School.

The LA2 Tenacity Challenge is an annual academic scholarship competition for teams of Latino and African-American students from urban and suburban high schools across Massachusetts.
The team from Burlington named themselves the "Creative Minds of Burlington" and was the first time entering the competition and was the only all boys team.

The Tenacity Challenge competition consisted of four events centered around the theme of tenacity and leadership.
  • Science and Math Quiz Bowl Challenge (Physics, Chemistry, Algebra I, Geometry)
  • Latino and African-American Literature and Film Analysis Challenge (Creative Performance to Express a Literary Analysis)
  • History Argument Challenge (Team will research and argue a position before a panel of judges)
  • Tenacity Banner Challenge- artistic creation completed prior to the competition date and displayed at the competition.
Twenty four teams from all over Massachusetts attend the challenge. The boys did a great job competing and we look forward a Burlington team attending next year.
