The Drawing and Painting students were treated to a great lecture by guest artist Arnie Casavant today. He created a quick landscape painting using complimentary colors for the students. During his demonstration Arnie highlighted key topics and how to start a landscape painting. The students were thrilled and excited to start their paintings.

Thanks to a generous grant from the BEF guest artist Arnie Casavant will begin his residency with the Drawing and Painting students on Wednesday, April 15 at 10am.
Arnie Casavant is a landscape painter who is exhibiting in the gallery and Cambridge Street Gallery and will work with the students from April- June to create a series of landscapes. On Saturday, March 28 five BHS students: Souleiman Benhida, Eric Kaweesa, Julian Lechner, Gianni Newman, and Jovan Sematimba competed in the Tenacity Challenge 2015 at Bedford High School. The LA2 Tenacity Challenge is an annual academic scholarship competition for teams of Latino and African-American students from urban and suburban high schools across Massachusetts. The team from Burlington named themselves the "Creative Minds of Burlington" and was the first time entering the competition and was the only all boys team. The Tenacity Challenge competition consisted of four events centered around the theme of tenacity and leadership.
