Exam Part 1For the final exam you will create a self portrait. Pick from one of the two assignments to create your final exam. Option 1- Erased/ Drawn PortraitSee more examples here: http://galatiak12art.blogspot.ca/2013/04/erase-yourself.html Art Challenge: Create a self portrait drawing that illustrates drawing and or erasing details of your face. Utilize photography, drawing and original thinking techniques to create a unique SELF portrait. The artwork must contain the following:
Studio Inquiry: 1. Brainstorm and sketch a few possible ideas. Discuss them with teacher and classmates. Ask yourself, "Is this the most original way to create a self portrait? What does this portrait represent about me? How can does this portrait stand out from the examples shown?" 2. Work with a partner or the teacher to create a photograph of you. Be attentive to light, shadows, forms , shapes, depth and space. It must be a high quality photograph. 3. Print the photograph. 4. Use an exacto knife to cut away 50% or more of the picture 5. Mount the photograph onto high quality bristol board 6. Use pencil to create a broad range of values to "complete" the portrait. 7. Check your craftsmanship and details. Edit as necessary. Option 2- Zentangle PortraitArt Challenge:
Create a self portrait drawing that illustrates unique aspects of you and your personality utilizing zentangles. The artwork must contain the following:
Studio Inquiry: 1. Brainstorm and sketch a few possible ideas. Discuss them with teacher and classmates. Ask yourself, "Is this the most original way to create a self portrait? What does this portrait represent about me? How can does this portrait stand out from the examples shown?" 2. Work with a partner or the teacher to create a photograph of you. Be attentive to light, shadows, forms , shapes, depth and space. It must be a high quality photograph. You will use this photograph as reference. 3. Create a sketch onto the high quality paper 4. Start your zentangle with pen/ marker 5. Use colored pencil to add color. * this is not a requirement but a choice 6. Check your craftsmanship and details. Edit as necessary. Grading Criteria:
