Be sure to compare to this picture and make sure that you have a broad range of values.  Attach the following value scale to a page in your sketchbook. Complete the value scale using a variety of marks to complete the empty boxes.

Make sure that you apply the Elements and Principles of Design the pages Sketch and plan your ideas and pages BEFORE you start You will work on this assignment in class.   Today you will receive a book to alter and manipulate. I will show you a few techniques today in class but you will start this assignment in class but complete it at home. The due date for your altered book is
October 5. This gives you three weeks to work on it.  Today you have the challenge of working with your classmates to create an endless landscape.
You will each receive a 5" x 18" sheet of blank paper. You need to decide as a group what the general contents of the landscape will be and where the horizon line needs to connect so that the picture can be viewed as one landscape.  Doodle Day
