As an artist it is important to have original and unique ideas for your works of art. Finding your inspiration and personal voice in your artwork is a life long discovery for many artists.
For this assignment you will research and look at art created by a variety of artists. Step 1: Go to Scholastic Art Awards and search through examples of artwork from other high school art students Step 2: Answer the google form here: Scholastic Art Awards Step 3: Check out the following artists: Mickalene Thomas Kehinde Wiley Step 4: Read about the guest speaker that we had last year and see the artwork that students created after the talk. Step 5: In your sketchbook create a list of 25 topics, issues and ideas that are important to you DUE: Wednesday, November 19 We are fortunate to live in the Boston area and have a wonderful resource of local art museums. As discussed at the beginning of the year you are required to visit an art museum at least one time during this semester. After students visit a museum they are always inspired, amazed and rave about the wonderful time that they had at the museum. So go and enjoy some art!
