Today we will be examining the work of artist Jim Dine

Dine is known for his pop imagery and icons

This sculpture is at the Decordova Museum and Sculpture park

Art Challenge:
Create an acrylic painting of an icon using thick layers of paint to create texture

Process:
Select an icon/ image to use
Experiment with acrylic paint and different tools to create texture
Create image or images of your icon
Layer paint and manipulate the surface of the painting
